20 Richard Bach Quotes That Will Change Your Perception About Life

A ll these quotes are from the book Illusions : Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah by Richard Bach. They all speak about changing your mindset, your perception and hence, your reality and life. The truth is that we can choose to suffer or to thrive. Like they say, pain is inevitable but suffering is optional. What would you choose? 1. If your happiness depends on what somebody else does, I guess you do have a problem. 2. Argue for your limitations, and sure enough, they're yours. 3. You will wonder why some people are unhappy. They are unhappy because they have chosen to be unhappy, and, Richard, that is all right! 4. We cannot die, we cannot hurt ourselves any more than illusions on the screen can be hurt. But we can believe we're hurt, in whatever agonizing detail we want. We can believe we're victims, killed and killing, shuddered around by good luck and bad luck. 5. If you really want to remove a cloud from your life, you do not make a big production out of it, you just ...

Routine 101

I can tell the time of the day just by looking at your face- a glow of hope when it's five you rejoice the new day, tired eyes by it's nine- same old story, same old game, at four you need your coffee during the office cigarette-break, at ten you look so exhausted as another day comes to an end, you'd draw the curtains at midnight- another day closer to death.

Surprise of the Day

It's middle of October, 10:00am and I am most certainly not doing what I thought I'd be doing at this time of the year, a year back. But when does life ever go as planned? Surprises and shocks are what makes life more and more unpredictable. For me, my surprise of the day is this post by a blogger from Indiana, Martina McGowan - http://martinamcgowan.com/2014/09/strategies-for-reclaiming-your-self/ She, someone who doesn't know me, spent time to create a picture for my quote. Life can't be better than this, can it? I have seen people copying and pasting others' quotes without giving them proper credits. I have seen people using my quotes as their Facebook cover photos and removing my name from the quote so that other people think it is their own creation. And in a world of liars, here's Martina who, without even knowing about me, decided to give me proper credits. May the world have more such souls. :-) Here's the picture she created -

The Bell Jar : A Retrospection

When I had just begun reading The Bell Jar, that was suggested to me by Gaurav Da (Gaurav Deka, author of North-East India’s first e-book, Madrigal - a song for several voices ) , I thought it would be just another novel giving me a good time.  The last novel that left a long lasting impact on me was The Kite Runner; after reading it I was crying for days and I was sad for weeks. But I had no idea Sylvia Plath would leave a way deeper impact on me than that. I had read about the way Sylvia had decided to end her life, years ago but as I kept on reading her semi-autobiography it almost felt like she was someone I knew. And when I reached the last page of the book that talked of hope and uncertainties, at four in the morning, I was nothing but devastated as I knew the tragic reality that happened a month after her first and only book was published, on Feb 1963. Death is poetic at times, pain is bliss and suffering is romantic; but it's not so when you feel for someone else...

A million miles away

And now that you are a million miles away, it seems like yesterday was just a dream.. a brief phase of togetherness, and life today is monotonous again.. I stare at the stars in the sky while the moon mocks seeing me alone, a drop of tear, and a glass of wine, and life today is LIFELESS again..

Falling in Love Again

And when I look into your eyes today, your eyes, they tell me, I'm falling in love again.. Your smile that's beaming like never before And I know I'm falling in love again.. May be I noticed you just today, Or may be you've been there since ages, but believe it when I tell you.. I'm falling in love all over again..

Ironic!

After torturing our adrenaline  by watching a horror movie for a couple of hours  the places we are most afraid of are the doors and windows of the room even though  they are the only ways for us to escape  in case of occurrence such an event. :-P
